Kriostat

Cryostat for electronic system testing

The device has been designed specifically for the testing of electronic systems, where both temperature conditions and the highest quality of measurement data are of key importance. The cryostat, equipped with a Pulse Tube cryogenic head, enables measurements in the temperature range of 7 K to 500 K.

Testing electronic systems requires not only high precision but also exceptional stability of the measurement setup. For this reason, the cryostat is mounted on a robust anti-vibration frame made of stainless steel and composite materials, effectively minimizing vibrations and the influence of external factors.

The proposed solution ensures measurement repeatability and enables advanced research under controlled conditions, meeting the requirements of modern electronics and materials physics.

The most significant device features:

  • Cryostat temperature range: <7 K to 500 K
  • Pulse Tube-type cryogenic head with a helium valve
  • Cryogenic head vibration: no more than 3 μm at a frequency of 1.3 Hz, measured in any direction. The system can be upgraded with additional vibration-damping systems.
  • Temperature measurement performed at both the sample holder and the cryogenic head, over a range of 1.4–500 K
  • Temperature control provided by a temperature controller selected according to the measurement range, type, and number of sensors
  • Vacuum chamber equipped with multiple ports, including a port adapted for the Pulse Tube-type cryogenic head, ports for mounting the vacuum shield, ports for electrical vacuum feedthroughs, and a port for a gate valve
  • Vacuum shield equipped with ports for mounting quartz vacuum windows
  • Pressure measurement using vacuum gauges capable of measuring from atmospheric pressure down to 10⁻⁹ mbar or lower
  • Safety system: the chamber is equipped with a safety valve that opens when the pressure exceeds atmospheric pressure, preventing excessive pressure from building up inside the vacuum chamber
  • Two thermal shields correlated with the optical windows of the vacuum shield
  • Anti-vibration frame equipped with wheels that can be locked to provide a stable anti-vibration operating position
  • Frame equipped with work surfaces
